Third Aircraft Carrier to Arrive in Middle East

What are Benjamin and Hilary Doing Behind Closed Doors? There are currently two US aircraft carriers near the Straits of Hormuz, through which much of the world’s oil must pass. They are the Enterprise and the Eisenhower. For some reason the normal shore-side rotation of the carrier Stennis was shortened—cutting back on time with the sailors’ families. The Navy department is always reluctant to do this. Logically they have a reason to do it at this time. 

While the explanation is that the Stennis will replace the Enterprise, there will be a period when all three carriers are in the gulf and are ready for anything untoward. In addition a French carrier is in the Persian Gulf as well, to participate in war games. The proposed scenario for the games is that “some power” has blocked the Straits of Hormuz. 

The Stennis will arrive in time for these games, which take place from Sept 16 to the 27. The new moon for September is, coincidentally, the 16th. I think it more likely that the attack by Israel on Iran will be in October, on the next new moon, on the 15th. A new moon attack provides the maximum darkness. It will not matter to the attackers, as modern technology will be doing the guidance for the attack. A later attack would also reduce the chance of an oil price spike before the election. In addition the war games will provide training for a confrontation with Iran. 

The same tired scenario that Iran has weapons of mass destruction, or soon will have, will be the excuse. The fact that Iran has no nuclear weapons program and Secretary of Defense Panetta has admitted this will not deter the attack.

How stupid do they think the American People are? (This is a rhetorical question…)

Am I predicting an attack on Iran by Israel before the election? No I am not. It will depend on Obama’s poll numbers, so who can predict it? 

I do not know if there is much media talk about the deployment of a third carrier. I could not find out very much about this. This may change by the time you read this as I am writing this on Wednesday the fifth of September. Debka, not a very reliable source in my opinion, is talking about it, but they have predicted the last few attacks on Iran already. They were wrong. But the timing seems right this time. 

In any event the US, French, British, Saudi, and Abu Dubai navies are ready and in position.

Outside Agitators

I remember that a usual explanation for troubles is that “the locals are happy on the plantation,” but “the troubles are caused by outside agitators.” I saw two headlines on Drudge that placed together are quite humorous, as I am sure was intended. 

Assad vows Syria will defeat ‘foreign conspiracy’

And 

Britain and US plan a Syrian revolution

Note the quotation marks in the first title and in the second quote below for the word "terrorist." The use of quotation marks implies that Assad is speaking falsely. Here is what Assad said: 

“What is happening now is not only directed at Syria but the whole region. Because Syria is the cornerstone, foreign powers are targeting it so their conspiracy succeeds across the entire region.”

The article continues:

Assad has long characterised the brutal 17-month conflict as a fight against foreign “terrorists” aided by the West and Syria’s Sunni Muslim foes in the region, including Saudi Arabia.

Is Assad accurate? From the next article:

Dozens of dissidents have been ferried out of Syria to be vetted for foreign backing. Recipients of the aid are given satellite communications and computers so that they can act as a local “hub” linking local activists and the outside world.

How much is this costing, that we know of? The second article continues:

The schemes are overseen by the US State Department’s Office of Syrian Opposition Support (OSOS) and Foreign Office officials. America has set aside $25 million for political opponents of President Bashar al-Assad while Britain is granting £5 million to the cause of overthrowing the regime.

It is absolutely crazy to supply Syrian rebels with aid while attacking their counterparts in Afghanistan. Yet that is exactly what is being done. 

I had better get busy and finish my series on War before events take place that overshadow our past war-making history.

SOP CIA

The news program begins with an interview of Dulles—long time head of the CIA. Based on the rest of this program and the one I posted yesterday, Dulles was either lying or clueless. I think he was lying. Note the terms he uses—"as far as I know" and "reasonable moral standard." Dulles was quite a piece of work. 

All the information in this old program was well known, and not even a little bit secret. This was the SOP—standard operating procedure—of the CIA for decades. 

If you want to know why the people of Iran hate the US Government, it is made clear in this news program. The US stole their oil and made the Shah, a brutal dictator, ruler of Iran. 

Watch this program carefully and you can see that it is pro-CIA propaganda. Note the use of the term "regime." Whenever the term regime is used, you are being played, or at least they are trying to play you. 

CIA Gone Wild

Like drunken college students on spring break, the CIA has a history of "going wild." Do the ends justify the means? 

Wag the Dog

I just finished watching Wag the Dog, again. I always find it amusing, and topical, even though it was made many years ago. For those of you who have not seen it, the plot is that the President is caught in a sexual indiscretion with a minor. Because of this, his election in a few days is in jeopardy. The solution is to bring in "Mr. Fix-It," played by Robert De Niro. De Niro's solution is to fake up a war with Albania. Not long after the movie was made President Clinton had gone to war with Serbia, over Albanians that lived in Serbia. You can't make anything up, no matter how absurd, and not have it be somewhat true. Many commentators at the time felt that Clinton had gone to war to distract us from Monica Lewinsky. 

Watching the movie reminded me of the upcoming war with Iran. We need a distraction right now from our upcoming election. Will we go to war with Iran before or after the election? My guess is that it depends on President Obama's poll numbers in October. 

This song is from the movie. We do need to "we guard our American borders, we guard the American dream." It seems to me that the best way to guard this is to avoid an unnecessary war.
