I was looking for another Melanie song for today, but I could not find, "I Won't Eat Animals." As a confirmed omnivore I find the song amusing. As much as I like Linda Ronstadt, Melanie's cover of this song might be better than the original.
I wanted to post the original Bob Marley version, but it was not embeddable. Jamaican music has some interesting traits. One trait is the use of the term "Babylon" to refer to our modern system. I think so too.
Instead here is Eric Clapton. I like this version better, but then again I am used to it.
I am a big Rick Wakeman fan. The song I am commenting on starts at 3:00, but Elizabethan Rock is good as well. The song is "God, Make me a Woman." I have the DVD that this is ripped from. I was watching that DVD in my office when my teenagers arrived for dinner. Just as they entered the room Ashley Holt was belting out, "God, make me a woman." The look on thier faces was priceless. Why is Dad listening to this song? Is there something he needs to tell us? I quickly, very quickly, explained that the song was sung by Adam in the Garden of Eden wanting God to create Eve. I think they believed me.
